BritBox executive Reemah Sakaan has been handed the reins to the SVOD service’s international roll-out.
Sakaan will be CEO of BritBox International, overseeing the expansion of the service into 25 countries worldwide.
Sakaan will start in April, leading a team of around 100. As CEO, she will be responsible for the success and growth of BritBox International (all territories outside of the U.K.) by driving creative success and building the BritBox brand around the world.
The ad-free subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) streaming service first launched in North America in March 2017, and surpassed 1.5 million subscribers last fall. In the UK, BritBox launched in November 2019, followed by Australia in November 2020. Earlier this month it was announced that South African audiences will be the next to enjoy BritBox, with the service set to launch in the second half of 2021.
More to come.
